Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Part-Time Development Manager to support and expand our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position will play a vital role in managing donor relations, overseeing grant applications, coordinating events, and maintaining our Bloomerang donor database. In coordination with the Board Development Team, lead the organization’s annual development plan to achieve annual revenue goals. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making a difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage donors and encourage continued support.
  • Prepare and send acknowledgment letters, donor reports, and regular updates.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors (existing and prospective)
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals established for new and existing donors.
  • Relationship building and stewardship of donors and prospects across all revenue sources - foundation, corporate and individual donor

Grant Management:

  • Identify grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
  • In coordination with the Development team, write, submit, and track grant proposals and reports.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting deadlines and ensure timely submissions.

Event Coordination:

  • Plan, organize, and execute fundraising and community events such as participation in Dancing with the Johnson County Stars and other third party events
  • Work with volunteers and staff to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Develop promotional materials and strategies to maximize event attendance and impact.

Database Management (Bloomerang):

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Bloomerang.
  • Generate reports and analyze donor data to inform development strategies.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of donor information.
  • Coordinate with Treasurer for donation receipts and required tax communication
Qualifications:

Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or a related field.

Proficiency with donor management software (Bloomerang experience preferred).

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Familiarity with event planning and grant writing processes.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of local community resources and networks in Johnson County.

Creative problem-solving and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Experience with social media or marketing for event promotion.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience and qualifications.
