We’re so busy in Johnson County that it might be easier to tell you what we don’t do! Let’s set the record straight:
Myth 1: The Franklin Chamber is Part of the City Government
Truth: While we love the City of Franklin and maintain a strong, cooperative relationship with its leadership, the Franklin Chamber is completely independent and self-governing. We receive no tax dollars and operate solely through memberships, sponsorships and our own initiatives.
Myth 2: You Have to “Pay-to-Play” to Join Our Board of Directors
Truth: Our board members are invited based on their passion for our mission and vision—not their wallets. Our board represents a diverse group of businesses that reflect the greater Franklin community. Each member is selected to ensure all local businesses have a voice.
Myth 3: The Chamber Just Cuts Ribbons and Throws Parades
Truth: Sure, we love celebrating new businesses with ribbon cuttings and proudly coordinate the Holiday Lighted Parade showcasing businesses and organizations to thousands of residents and visitors. But we do so much more! We advocate for businesses, provide resources, cultivate genuine connections and help our local economy thrive.
Myth 4: I Don’t Have Time for the Chamber’s Events
Truth: We get it—time is precious. While attending events can help you connect and grow, you don’t have to step outside your business to benefit from the Chamber. Take advantage of our enhanced online visibility, referrals, advertising opportunities and insider information—all designed to support your success.
Myth 5: Chamber Membership Isn’t for Me—I’d Feel Out of Place
Truth: The Franklin Chamber offers something for everyone. Whether it’s professional development, community information, networking, after-hours events or our business expo, we provide a welcoming environment. Our ambassador team, board of directors and staff are here to make introductions, offer guidance, navigate your benefits and ensure you feel right at home.
