Chamber Members:
The Membership and Public Relations Committees have held several joint meetings this year to discuss forming a Chamber Ambassador program for the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. Through these discussions it was decided that an Ambassador Program would be a positive program for our Chamber.
The Ambassadors will work with the Chamber staff on recruiting and retaining members. They will attend Chamber events and mentor new members. The Ambassadors will be able to meet with Chamber member decision-makers on a professional basis while helping the Chamber meet membership goals. The motivation and commitment of the volunteer Ambassador is important to the success of the program. Applicants should exhibit a sincere willingness to volunteer and a positive attitude.
If you are interested in becoming a part of this exciting new Ambassador program, please contact the office and we will send you an application and Ambassador Handbook. Completed applications must be returned to the Chamber office by September 15th. Ambassador duties will begin in January 2009.

2009 BOARD OF DIRECTORS INFO
Chamber Board members work very hard to support and promote the ideals of the Franklin Chamber. Sixteen individuals give their time every year to oversee the workings of this organization. Without them, the Franklin Chamber would not be what it is today. The Nominating Committee has diligently worked on a slate of Chamber Board members for 2009.
The 2008 Nominating Committee has slated the following individuals for the 2009 Chamber Board: Running for re-election are Jim Hemmelgarn, Lisa Jones, Lynne Haste, Deena Kelly and Sally Wells. New nominees are Martha Clark-Pfifer-Franklin College, Greg Moore-Sylvan Learning Center, Elaine Pesto-Express Employment Professionals, Joe Williams-Jarvis Realty Group, and Jennifer Wilson-Lincoln Bank. If there are any additional nominations, they should be forwarded, in writing, to the Chamber office prior to the Luncheon on September 11th. If the slate is unopposed, the nominees will be declared elected at the Luncheon. If the office receives any additional nominees prior to the luncheon, a secret ballot vote will be taken at the luncheon and votes will be tallied by the Executive Committee.
Current Board members not up for re-election include: Anji Brown, Vicki Garrett, Michelle Hardcastle, Brian Lumsdon, Betsy Schmidt, and Steve Vance. Todd Bemis will be retiring from the Board after six years of service. We would like to thank Todd for his service to the Franklin Chamber of Commerce.
If you have any questions about the Franklin Chamber Board of Directors, or the election process, please feel free to contact the office. We appreciate the support of these individuals; the success of the Franklin Chamber would not be possible without their dedication.

CERTIFIED ELECTRICIANS NEEDED
Franklin, IN – With the recent storms and flooding in the area, the City of Franklin is in need of volunteer assistance, specifically from Electricians.
Certified Electricians are needed to look at houses without power, check service panels, outlets, and any other relevant aspects of homes and businesses affected by the flooding. This is needed to determine if it is safe to restore power to the structure.
Certified Electricians who would like to volunteer their services to assist the flood victims may contact Todd Wilkerson at 410-4630.
